Purple Skies….

I told him the sky was purple

He knew it was blue

But he knew that believing the sky was purple was a way inside my thoughts

Clearly seeing the sky for its TRUE colors he only wanted to see what I saw

Broken pieces scattered

I just wanted him to help me solve my puzzle

So I told him the sky was purple

As we laid under the brown tree

If only he could understand that I saw blue and a burning red

And what was really in my head

Is that I was torn in between the two

Most of my pieces were hidden in places I was afraid to return.

So next time I say the sky is purple I want you to know that’s what I see when I’m with you….

The heart wins again….(poem)

The alarm sounded for me to wake for the day. Opening my eyes, I wanted to still be dreaming. Reality has sunken in that we are not neighbors. Your bed is your bed and my bed, well it’s just springs hidden under some cushion. But I can’t complain because this bed is what comforts me. These pillows have become my tissue. These sheets are like your hands holding me tight. The air flows through the vent like the whispers of your voice.

There will be no knock on the door. No ringing of the bell. Sitting on the front porch waiting for you to walk by. If only I could see over the horizon. Look into your eyes and capture the sun rising or watch it set. You are there and I’m, well I’m lonely. Prevented myself from loving you but the heart wins again. ~J.A.A.G

Day 4 of GD_Words poems.

Words are beautifully hideous.
Standing alone they tell stories; “lost”.
Standing together they speak riddles; “I am lost?”.
Used right they reveal truth; “I am lost!”.
In the hands of a wordsmith they become characters only a depraved mind can have; “I don’t want to be found”.

Day 3 of GD_WORDS poems.

I’ve been musing over the last sunset

And I think I want it.

Like I want you.

Who am I kidding.

You are my last sunset.

Gone forever.~Adewumi Godwin  .

Distance is just a matter of numbers.

Can you envisage the future of my image?

I’ll turn your last into your present.

Open your eyes to my colorful soul.

We are the sun and I will set you free.~J.A.A.G

Backyard views….

There’s several things that you could do after a stressful day to help you unwind.

Some people would say, “I need a drink”. Some will just enjoy a nice bubble bath. Or maybe just coming home and flopping on the bed and ignore all calls and text.

We all live busy lives and have to schedule some relaxation time. It’s sad that we have to schedule it but, that’s the way it is sometimes.

As busy as life can be, I try not to forget to enjoy the simple things. Being able to take a break from reality and enjoy the sunset, is simple peace of mind. Find some time for you to keep your sanity.
